Siemens Energy AG on Wednesday said that it will electrify Finnish company UPM-Kymmene Oyj's biorefinery in Leuna, Germany.

The German energy player said it will supply electrification, automation, and digitalization packages for the biorefinery, which is currently under construction and scheduled to start up in late 2022.

The industrial-scale facility will produce green biochemicals without the use of fossil-based raw materials, according to the company.
