Lukoil PJSC said Monday that it dectected a leak of oil-containing fluid in the Komi Republic, Russia, last Tuesday and that clean-up operations have entered their final stages.

The Russian oil company said specialists detected the leak during a helicopter check flight. The leak was found in a pipeline that connects a pump station of the Oshskoye field and a booster pump station of the Kharyaginskoye field, both in northern Russia, Lukoil said.

The company said less than nine cubic metres of oil-containing fluid found leaked to the Kolva river water body. Response personnel contained the bulk of oil-containing fluid onshore, Lukoil said.

Populated areas and business facilities, as well as drinking-water supply sources, are in no danger, Lukoil said.
