Auto maker Stellantis NV and Foxconn Technology Group, best known for assembling Apple Inc.'s iPhone, said on Monday that they will announce a new strategic partnership on Tuesday.

Foxconn, formally known as Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., has formed several partnerships on electric vehicles, including with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV, which is now part of Stellantis.

Earlier this year, the chairman of Foxconn said that the company was in talks with some U.S. companies over possible electric vehicle partnerships and raised the possibility of manufacturing electric vehicles in the U.S.

Stellantis was created through the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV and Peugeot SA.
