February 24 2021 - 8:00AM
Lightbridge Corporation (Nasdaq: LTBR), an advanced nuclear fuel
technology company, today announced that it has received a Notice
of Allowance from United States Patent and Trademark Office for
U.S. Patent Application #15/900,071 covering a method for
manufacturing metallic fuel rods via co-extrusion and using a
powder metallurgy approach to producing a billet.
Seth Grae, President and CEO of Lightbridge
commented, “This Notice of Allowance from the U.S. Patent and
Trademark Office further expands and strengthens our intellectual
property protection in the United States, which is essential to our
efforts in commercializing our technology. Given the fact that
Lightbridge Fuel™ provides a 30% power uprate, which improves the
operating economics of existing reactors and new SMRs, we believe
our technology will be key in the U.S. meeting climate change goals
and baseload energy requirements in the years and decades to
come.”
