Electricite de France SA said late Wednesday that its subsidiary EDF Renewables North America has fully acquired distributed generation solar-solutions provider EnterSolar.

The French energy company, which previously held a 50% interest in the U.S. provider, said EnterSolar will now operate as part of its Distributed Solutions Group.

"The acquisition allows EnterSolar to fully leverage EDF Renewables' experience in grid-scale renewable energy and our solid track record in developing behind-the-meter solar photovoltaic projects," said Peyton Boswell, managing director at EnterSolar.

The financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
