Oil & Gas Development Co. said Thursday that it has been provisionally awarded 11 exploration blocks in Pakistan.

The Pakistani energy company said the award followed a competitive bidding round held by the country's government this month.

Three of the blocks awarded to OGDCL are located in the Balochistan province and are shared with a joint venture partner. The remaining eight were awarded on a 100%-basis and are located in the Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.
