Major indexes are falling even more, pushing the S&P 500 down 2.5% and the Dow industrials down more than 2%.

Concerns about a slower-than-expected pace of vaccine rollouts around the U.S. and an economic slowdown have been percolating, and some traders fear that forced selling to cover losses from betting against popular stocks for day traders could soon pressure the broader market.

The tech-laden Nasdaq slides more than 2.5% as well ahead of a host of earnings from internet companies.
