Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE reached an advance purchase agreement for up to 40 million Covid-19 vaccine doses with the Covax worldwide vaccination initiative.

The companies said doses will be delivered throughout 2021. The first doses are expected to be delivered in the first quarter, subject to negotiation and execution of supply agreements.

For the Covax Advance Market Commitment's 92 countries, Pfizer and BioNTech will provide the vaccine to Covax at a not-for-profit price.
