Mastercard Inc. Thursday said it named Craig Vosburg chief product officer, effective Jan. 1.

The Purchase, N.Y., payments-technology company said Linda Kirkpatrick, currently president of U.S. issuers, will succeed Mr. Vosburg as president, North America, on that date.

Michael Miebach, who had been chief product officer, earlier this year was named president and will succeed Ajay Banga as chief executive at the start of 2021.

Mastercard said Mr. Vosburg, who joined the company in 2006, will lead a newly integrated products and engineering organization.

Mastercard said it will announce Ms. Kirkpatrick's successor as president of U.S. issuers at a later date.
