MTU Aero Engines AG said Thursday that its subsidiary MTU Maintenance Canada Ltd. would partner with GE Aviation to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services for the U.S. Air Force's F108 engines.

The German aircraft-engine manufacturer said the two parties would enter into a five-year contract with a one-year base and four one-year option periods.

MTU Maintenance's services will begin from the fourth quarter of the year. Financial details of the agreement weren't disclosed.

GE Aviation is a subsidiary of General Electric Co.
