Total SE said Wednesday that its resins business Societe Cray Valley isn't for sale, in response to media reports in early October that the French oil-and-gas company was launching a sale of its unit.

"Total will respect the commitments made in 2013 during Carling's restructuring concerning the global C4 resin and RW resin businesses, which are to continue their development within the group," it said.

The Societe Cray Valley operates the Carling petrochemical platform in the Lorraine region, eastern France.
