Electricite de France SA said Tuesday that it has signed the final joint-venture agreements with China Energy Investment Corp. to develop offshore wind projects in China.

The French energy company said it is taking a 37.5% stake in the new company through its subsidiaries EDF Renewables and EDF China, while CEI will hold the remaining stakes through Shenhua Renewable and Shenhua Clean Energy Holdings.

The new company is currently building and operating 502-megawatts of offshore wind-power projects off the coasts of the Jiangsu province, north of Shanghai.
