Naturgy Energy Group SA said Thursday that it is teaming up with BlackRock Inc.'s Global Energy & Power Infrastructure Fund for its takeover of a 34.05% stake in gas pipeline project Medgaz.

The investor's fund will acquire 50% of the special purpose vehicle through which the Spanish energy company had agreed to acquire the Medgaz stake.

Naturgy had agreed to buy the stake in Medgaz from CEPSA Holding LLC, a subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Co., for 445 million euros ($487.9 million) in October.
