Safety and Education, SAIC’s scholarship program helps to address
the need for qualified cybersecurity professionals.
Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) has
selected 10 veteran recipients for its CyberWarrior™ Scholarship.
In collaboration with (ISC)2’s nonprofit charitable trust, the
Center for Cyber Safety and Education, the scholarship program
provides military veterans with career development opportunities in
order to help meet the national need for qualified cybersecurity
professionals.

and defeat cyberattacks that threaten our infrastructure, defense
sector, and its supply chain,” said SAIC Chief Information Security
Officer and retired U.S. Army Colonel Alicia Lynch.

- Peter Alvarado-Ruiz, U.S. Army veteran from San Antonio,
Texas
- Karen Grgurich, U.S. Army veteran from Chicago, Illinois
- Marylyn Harris, U.S. Army veteran from Houston, Texas
- Eric Kinzie, U.S. Navy veteran from Fort Wayne, Indiana
- Kimberly Moss, U.S. Army Reserve veteran from Atlanta,
Georgia
- Alfredo Rodriguez, U.S. Army veteran from Fort Meade,
Maryland
- Jeremy Rodriguez, U.S. Marines veteran from Tampa, Florida
- Esther Stepansky, U.S. Army and Army National Guard veteran
currently living in Israel
- Jose Villalobos, U.S. Army National Guard veteran from Phoenix,
Arizona
- Jermaine White, U.S. Navy veteran from Clinton, Maryland
The SAIC CyberWarrior Scholarship program provides recipients
with everything they need to prepare to become certified for
careers in cybersecurity, including training classes, textbooks and
materials, and exam vouchers for the (ISC)2 certification of their
choice.
At the end of the training, the veterans will have enhanced
opportunities to secure cybersecurity positions that require highly
technical cyber skills, such as security analyst, security
engineer, security auditor, and security architect. The program
focuses on six (ISC)2 certifications: Certified Information Systems
Security Professional (CISSP®), Certified Secure Software Lifecycle
Professional (CSSLP®), Certified Cloud Security Professional
(CCSP®), HealthCare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner
(HCISPP®), Certified Authorization Professional (CAP®), and Systems
Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP®).

veterans quickly move into critical cybersecurity roles as they

The 2019 CyberWarrior Scholarship recipients will be formally
recognized at a presentation ceremony on October 15, at 11 a.m. ET.
SAIC will be hosting the ceremony from booth #3314 at the
Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Conference at the
Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
