The state of Maine's private sector digital services partner of 20 years honored in 2019 awards program

Maine Information Network, (MIN), the state of Maine’s official digital government services provider, was recently named one of the 2019 Best Places to Work in Maine for the third consecutive year.

The annual survey and awards program was created by the Society for Human Resources Management of Maine and Best Companies Group. It was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best employers in Maine benefiting the state's economy, workforce and businesses. The 2020 list is made up of 100 companies, including MIN.

"We are honored to be recognized for the third year in a row as one of the best employers in Maine," MIN General Manager Dan Andrews said. "One of our founding principles is to be the best place our employees have ever worked, and we believe that happy employees are motivated to produce high-quality work and provide great customer service. It is a privilege to be recognized by this award program."

MIN is better known to its Maine government partners as InforME. As the network manager of the statutory InforME contract, MIN, has created nearly 200 unique digital government services since 1999. MIN currently staffs an office in Augusta, Maine with 23 local employees.

To be eligible for consideration in the awards program, organizations must:

• Be a publicly or privately held business

• Be a for-profit, not-for-profit business or government entity

• Have a facility in the state of Maine

• Have a minimum of 15 full-time or part-time employees working in Maine

• Be in business a minimum of one year.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in Maine. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation.

The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data and determined the final rankings.

The winners will be revealed at an event on Oct. 2, then published in a special supplement of MaineBIZ.
