Albioma : Commissioning of the photovoltaic power plant with
storage in Sainte-Rose, Guadeloupe
PRESS RELEASE
Paris La Défense, 15 July 2019
Commissioning of the photovoltaic power plant with storage in
Sainte-Rose, Guadeloupe
Albioma announces the industrial commissioning,
on 28 June 2019, of the Sainte-Rose photovoltaic power plant in
Guadeloupe, with a capacity of 3.3 MWp.
A plant with innovative storage
This plant won the 2015 Energy Regulation Board
(CRE) tender for the construction and operation of photovoltaic
solar power plants with energy storage located in
non-interconnected areas.
The project, led by Albioma Energipole Solaire,
in which Albioma and the Energipole Group are 50% shareholders, had
to prove innovative in order to be worthy of a prize, particularly
with regard to its production forecast, storage and control system
components. The project thus helps smooth production and
contributes to the stability of the network, in addition to the
other means of production on the island, mainly the thermal biomass
power plant Albioma le Moule.
The long-term purchase agreement signed with EDF
is established for a period of 25 years.
Integrated in the Guadeloupe territory
The plant is located within the grounds of the
Ecopôle de l’Espérance, a non-hazardous waste storage facility, on
land without conflict of use. This project was built as part of the
TEPCV (Positive-energy for green growth area) initiative, for which
the Nord Basse-Terre urban authority (CANBT) was selected. The
project was developed in consultation with the municipality and
benefited from the support of state services and local authorities
(Sainte-Rose town hall, CANBT, Guadeloupe Region and Guadeloupe
Departmental Council).
The electricity production will be 4.5 GWh and
corresponds to the annual consumption of about 1,800 families. The
installation of the solar photovoltaic plant in Sainte-Rose will
prevent the release into the atmosphere of around 3,750 tonnes of
CO2 per year.
Present since 1998 in Guadeloupe, Albioma
thereby contributes to achieving the objectives of 50% renewable
energy in electricity consumption by 2020 and energy autonomy by
2030, set by the law on the Energy Transition for Growth Green
through the multi-year energy plans.
With this new project, Albioma is consolidating
its position as leader in solar power in Overseas France.
Next on the agenda: results for the first half 2019, on 24 July
2019 (after trading).
