Volkswagen Eyes Further Cooperation Potential With Ford

Volkswagen AG (VOW.XE) said Friday it has identified further areas for a potential cooperation with Ford Motor Co. (F), outside the light commercial-vehicle segment where the two car makers are already in talks.

Volkswagen said talks on the joint development and manufacture of a range of light commercial vehicles with Ford are "progressing positively so far" and added that "additional fields of cooperation outside the light commercial-vehicle segment with the potential for expanding collaboration have also been identified."

Nevertheless, the two companies will remain competitors and the proposed cooperation "does in no way concern commercial, marketing or pricing strategies," it said.
