ROCK HILL, S.C., Nov. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Today at Formnext
2018, 3D Systems (NYSE: DDD), the originator of 3D printing,
announced the opening of a new Customer Innovation Center (CIC) in
Moerfelden, Germany dedicated to
plastics additive manufacturing. This location adds to the
company's global CIC footprint including CICs in Denver, Colorado; Leuven, Belgium; Rock Hill,
South Carolina; and San Diego,
California. The new CIC will provide potential and existing
customers the opportunity to test and perfect their additive
manufacturing applications in close collaboration with 3D Systems'

than 30 years of domain expertise on application needs and access
to the company's unique workflow approach.
Access to Unprecedented Expertise
At the core of 3D
Systems' CIC strategy is the unparalleled expertise and experience
of the company's application engineers. They work directly with
customers to determine their unique use case needs, and help
manufacturers benchmark their parts and products to ensure quality
control and precise results according to specifications.
3D Systems has been in the manufacturing business for more than
30 years, and its success is driven by the deepest expertise and
experience in the industry. The company's global footprint provides
help and support to customers regardless of where they do
business.
A Workflow for Any Application
3D Systems' goal is to
partner with customers to help them progress through their additive
manufacturing journey. 3D Systems provides tools for the entire
manufacturing workflow, from digitization to design and simulation,
through manufacture, inspect and manage – including consultation
and training courses, specialized advice on designing and
optimizing parts to be manufactured, the additive manufacturing
process, and designing the optimal workflow for the customer's
unique needs. This approach ultimately improves agility, reduces
complexity, and lowers overall total cost of operation while
providing competitive advantage.
"Our strategy puts the customer at the center of everything we
do," said Vyomesh Joshi, president
and chief executive officer, 3D Systems. "Each customer has a
specific need - perhaps something that they want to do for mass
customization, or they have a complex part that they want to build.
Whatever the circumstance, we need to start with the customer and
their specific use case. That's the power of really
understanding the customer, and knowing what needs to be
accomplished."
