SÃO PAULO, Oct. 16, 2018
/PRNewswire/ -- RealNetworks, Inc. (NASDAQ: RNWK), a global
leader in digital media announced today that it has partnered with
Seventh, a leader in video monitoring and access control solutions
in Brazil, to bring the SAFR
facial recognition platform to Seventh's portfolio of integrators
and resellers in Brazil and the
rest of Latin America.
This agreement marks the first SAFR integration partnership in
Brazil since the launch of SAFR in
July 2018. NIST (NIST.gov) ranked
SAFR as one of the top facial recognition algorithms in the world
for "Wild Faces" FNMR, complementing its outstanding 99.8% accuracy
rating against the University of
Massachusetts' database for Labeled Faces in the Wild
(LFW).
On a global scale, SAFR technology has already detected,
identified and delivered results on millions of faces for customers
and partners who sought facial recognition on the Macintosh,
Windows, Linux, iOS and Android platforms—where RealNetworks has
deployed its core technology.
"Our partnership with Seventh represents a significant step for
RealNetworks in our endeavor to build key partnerships for the
marketing, sales, integration, delivery, and support of our facial
recognition solution across the globe," said Jose Larrucea, RealNetworks Vice President,
Latin America.
SAFR scales to differentiate and recognize millions of people,
confirming identity, gender, age and sentiment against a massive
database of faces. This enables numerous uses cases, such as access
control — granting or denying access to people for entry into
restricted areas based on their profiles; initiating specific
events or actions based on recognized individuals; security
monitoring to reduce theft; and a wide variety of other use cases
across retail, health, telecom, education, government, and
workspace vertical markets.
"We're excited to apply Seventh's leadership in video monitoring
and access control to develop and bring to market innovative
solutions built on the SAFR platform and which will be amplified
through our extensive set of channel partners," said Carlos Schwochow, CEO of Seventh.
Seventh and RealNetworks are committed to integrating their
platforms, and launching solutions by the first quarter of 2019.
