TORONTO, Sept. 24, 2018 /CNW/ - Manulife has added Hotels.com to the growing list of reward partners in the Manulife Vitality program in Canada. Through Hotels.com, members can earn up to 50 per cent off the cost of their hotel fee per qualifying night based on their participation in the Manulife Vitality program and Vitality Rewards Status – the higher their status, the better the reward. Manulife has added Hotels.comTM to the growing list of reward partners in the Manulife Vitality program in Canada. (CNW Group/Manulife Financial Corporation)

Manulife redefined life insurance in 2016 with the introduction of the Manulife Vitality program, which allows members to save significantly on their premiums and earn valuable rewards by taking small steps to live healthy lives, like walking, exercising or getting regular check-ups.

"Our Manulife Vitality program members now can enjoy the mental and physical benefits of a weekend getaway, at a much more affordable cost," said Michael Doughty, President and Chief Executive Officer, Manulife Canada. "By partnering with Hotels.com, we're significantly advancing the overall value of our program, and encouraging more Canadians to start their journey toward a long, healthy life."

In a recent Manulife poll2, nearly 80 per cent of respondents said the best word they would use to describe the feeling they get from staying in a hotel is relaxed. More than half reported they choose hotels with discounts. One in three respondents said they get their best sleeps when staying in a hotel.

In addition to Hotels.com, Manulife Vitality program members can access rewards like Apple Watch, and other benefits and discounts through Amazon.ca, Garmin, Goodlife Fitness, and ExamOne.

"Through our Vitality platform, we continue to offer motivating rewards with world-class partners – to help incentivize healthier behaviour," said Kailas Nair, Vice President Strategy and Partnerships for Vitality Group. "Our global partnership with Hotels.com is a great example of this – pairing behavioral engagement strategies, actuarial insights and technology trends to nudge our members to better health."
