--Tesco has identified up to 60 existing stores that it may convert into a new chain of discount shops to take on rivals Aldi and Lidl, reports the Mail on Sunday.

--The new discount chain could be opened as early as September and may be called Jack's, in a nod to Tesco founder Jack Cohen, given that a subsidiary of the U.K. grocer tried to register the name as a trademark, the Mail on Sunday cites unnamed sources as saying.
