Visa Inc. (NYSE:V) announced today that Jennifer Grant will join
the company as executive vice president and chief human resources
officer beginning August 2018, succeeding Michael Ross, who last
year announced his intention to leave once a successor was named.
Ms. Grant will lead Visa’s global human resources strategy and
organization reporting to Visa’s chief executive officer, Al
Kelly.
Ms. Grant is an experienced human resources executive with more
than 20 years of success helping global companies realign HR
strategies to meet changing business needs, creating innovative
strategies to attract and retain talent, and establishing talent
management processes. For the past five years, Ms. Grant has served
as executive vice president and chief human resources officer for
Air Products & Chemicals Inc., headquartered in Allentown,
PA.
Prior to joining Air Products, Ms. Grant served as the vice
president of human resources for Pfizer’s specialty products and
oncology divisions. She previously held a range of international
human resources management roles at Pfizer, supporting the
commercial and manufacturing organizations.
Ms. Grant began her career with GE, where she held a variety of
roles of increasing responsibility across multiple divisions. Ms.
Grant received a bachelor’s degree in organizational behavior from
the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in business
administration, with a concentration in human resources management
from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University.
“After a very thoughtful and extensive search, I’m excited to
welcome Jennifer to the Visa family,” said Al Kelly, chief
executive officer of Visa Inc. “With deep experience in human
resources strategy and a strong focus on building a culture of
inclusive leadership across diverse organizations, Jennifer is the
right leader to take Visa’s talent strategy to the next level in
this very dynamic business environment.”
Ms. Grant succeeds Michael Ross, who last year announced his
intention to leave Visa to focus on entrepreneurial and teaching
opportunities. During his nearly six years at Visa, Mr. Ross was
responsible for delivering a number of important contributions to
Visa’s culture and employee experience, including launching Visa
University, opening Visa’s first employee Health Center, advancing
the company’s diversity and inclusion initiatives, and overseeing
the growth of the employee base from approximately 9,000 to more
than 16,000.
“Michael is a terrific leader, partner and person,” said Al
Kelly. “Michael has had a real impact on shaping Visa’s strategies
related to talent and leadership. We wish him all the best in his
future endeavors.”
