Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

(b) On February 28, 2018, Zahid Afzal resigned as a director of United Community Financial Corp. (“UCFC”). This resignation was affected in connection with his upcoming employment as UCFC and Home Savings Bank’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, and was previously disclosed in the Form 8-K filed by UCFC on February 26, 2018.
