AONI Bluetooth Headphones Incorporate QuickLogic EOS S3 Sensor Processing Platform
January 18 2018 - 6:30AM
QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ:QUIK), a developer of ultra-low
power multi-core voice-enabled SoCs, embedded FPGA IP, display
bridge and programmable logic solutions, today announced that
Shenzhen AONI Electronic Ltd., a manufacturer of intelligent audio
and video hardware has selected the company's EOS™ S3 multi-core
voice enabled System on a Chip (SoC) for its Bluetooth®-enabled
sport earphone and its Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) Bluetooth
headphone set. Both products enable the wearer to use their
voice to connect to Amazon Alexa Voice Services (AVS) and issue
music control commands.
As Junko Yoshida of EE Times commented at CES 2018, voice is one
of the three building blocks that will “compose the holy trinity of
consumer electronic devices that will drive the market in 2018 and
further into the future.”
QuickLogic displayed the AONI Bluetooth-enabled earphone and
headset with local voice command support for the Alexa Assistant in
their demo suite at CES. The AONI Bluetooth headphones provide
active noise cancellation technology to enable users to enjoy their
music anytime and anywhere. Ergonomic design, easy
adjustability, and long battery lifetimes further enhance the
user’s comfort and convenience. “We selected QuickLogic’s EOS S3
Sensor Processing Platform for its always-on voice trigger, fast
response time, and ultra-low power consumption” said ShiJie Wu from
AONI. “Their complete solution and excellent technical
support enabled us to quickly and easily add voice control support
to our sport earphone and headphone products at very low power
levels.”
“CES 2018 underscored that voice is the preferred interface for
the consumer, enabling local control as well as access to
cloud-based digital assistants. This is particularly true for
hearable consumer products,” said Brian Faith, QuickLogic’s
president and CEO. “The AONI Bluetooth sport earphone and ANC
headphone set are excellent examples of such products and we were
honored to be able to showcase their headphones in our
demonstration suite at the show.”
Availability
The EOS S3 Sensor Processing Platform from QuickLogic is
available now and the AONI Bluetooth earphones and headsets with
voice control plans to enter mass production later this
quarter.
About EOS S3 Sensor Processing Platform The EOS
S3 voice-enabled sensor processor is a highly integrated SoC that
is optimized for ultra-low power consumption and reduced latency
for voice-enabled cloud-based service applications and is optimized
for design flexibility. The multi-core design of EOS S3 enables it
to be used as a host processor as well as a sensor processor. Power
consumption in the always-listening mode is minimized by its
hardware integrated Low Power Sound Detector (LPSD), which supports
Sensory’s TrulyHandsfree™ library. System level power consumption
is further optimized by the EOS S3’s dynamic power management
technology. EOS S3 also includes an embedded FPGA (eFPGA), which
enables unique design flexibility and can support post-production
design revisions.
