This week's two-day auction set a new December sales record for the Fort Worth site

FORT WORTH, TX, Dec. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ - This week Ritchie Bros. sold 4,100+ equipment items and trucks for US$50+ million at its unreserved auction in Fort Worth, TX, setting a new December sales record for the site.

More than 5,000 people from 60 countries registered to bid in the auction on December 13 – 14, 2017, including 3,500+ people registering to bid online. U.S. buyers purchased 91 percent of the equipment, including 40 percent purchased by Texas buyers, while international buyers from as far away as India, Italy, and Vietnam purchased nine percent of the equipment. Online buyers purchased 56 percent of the equipment.  

"We had a great auction this week—our largest sale ever in December—with an uptick in pricing in most equipment categories," said Neal Black, Regional Sales Manager, Ritchie Bros. "We saw particularly strong pricing for the nice forestry package in the auction, which sold to buyers across the country and into Canada. We also saw good prices for the massive selection of transportation assets in the sale."

Ritchie Bros. sold equipment for 575+ owners in the Fort Worth auction. Highlights included 450+ truck tractors, 390+ trailers, 225+ aerial work platforms, 95+ excavators, 65 compactors, 55+ skid steers, 55 loader backhoes, 50+ flatbed trucks, 45+ dump trucks, 35+ loaders, and 15+ dozers. All items were sold without minimum bids or reserve prices.

  • Two 2015 Kenworth T800 12x6x4 w/ Manitex TC700 70-ton boom trucks sold for a combined US$650,000
  • A 2015 Peterson 4710B crawler horizontal grinder sold for US$365,000
  • Two Caterpillar 938M wheel loaders sold for a combined US$355,000
  • A 2016 Tigercat 635E 6x6 grapple skidder sold for US$315,000
  • Two Terex TA300 6x6 articulated dump trucks sold for a combined US$260,000
  • A 2013 Tesmec TRS1375 crawler bucket wheel rock saw sold for US$230,000
