Electronics for Imaging (Nasdaq:EFII) and Xerox are bringing to
market an innovative Fiery® digital front end for large workgroups.
The Xerox EX-c C8000 Print Server Powered by Fiery for Xerox
AltaLink® C8000 color multifunction printers (MFPs) offers users
accurate and consistent color, enhanced productivity, fast job
preparation, and a host of other productivity and security
benefits. It makes high-quality, high-volume workgroup printing
more affordable and flexible.
“With the new Fiery server for the AltaLink C8000 Series MFPs,
EFI and Xerox elevate the quality standard for workgroup printing,”
said John Henze, vice president, Fiery marketing, EFI. “Customers
get the best of both worlds: the highest color quality and an
efficient, connected workflow that helps them be more productive
and reduce print outsourcing.”
New workgroup-focused hardware
platform The Xerox EX-c C8000 Print Server is the
first server on a new Fiery platform designed to provide a
lower-cost option for large workgroups, while delivering the
performance power needed to print large, graphic-intense Microsoft
PowerPoint and Adobe PDF files quickly and accurately.
Accurate, consistent colorFor
customers who need accurate corporate colors – such as PANTONE
colors – and high-quality images for applications such as client
proposals, real estate fliers or sales collateral, the EX-c C8000
Print Server ensures that their materials will print exactly as
they intended. The optional Fiery Spot-On™ feature allows the
creation of custom spot colors as well as substitute colors,
ensuring that customers can get accurate color out of all
applications.
Fast job preparationThe Fiery
Print Server features many tools to help workgroups be more
productive. Fiery VUE, the free visual print application, gives
users the ability to see exactly how finished booklets will print,
as well as to combine multiple documents into one finished booklet.
With Fiery FreeForm, workgroups can create personalized Microsoft
Word or Adobe InDesign documents more efficiently. Fiery Hot
Folders and Virtual Printers options save time and avoid wasting
prints by using drag-and-drop or simple File > Print workflows
that automatically contain the right print settings for the
document type.
Enhanced integration and
security The AltaLink C8000 Series MFPs are part
of the Xerox ConnectKey® portfolio, which feature a host of
productivity-boosting apps. The Fiery server integrates seamlessly
with ConnectKey apps like Xerox Easy Translator and cloud solutions
such as Dropbox. In addition, the Fiery server is compatible with
Nuance applications such as Equitrac, ensuring a secure,
intelligent print workflow.
The Fiery Print Server integrates with AltaLink C8000 Series MFP
security protocols and includes standard Fiery features like user
authentication, encryption, network protection (including IP
filtering and port blocking), secure printing and more.
“The Fiery Print Server meets the needs of our most demanding
enterprise, creative print and SMB customers,” said Terry Antinora,
vice president, Workplace Solutions Business Group, Xerox. “The
AltaLink C8000 Series MFPs with a Fiery server helps our customers
get work done more efficiently, while meeting precise brand
requirements for printed materials.”
Xerox will be presenting the new AltaLink C8000 Series MFPs
during EFI’s Connect 2018 users’ conference, Jan. 23-26 in Las
Vegas. The Xerox EX-c C8000 Print Server Powered by Fiery is
