Kenneth J. Mahon, President and Chief Executive Officer of Dime Community Bancshares, Inc. (the “Company” or “Dime”) (NASDAQ:DCOM), the parent company of Dime Community Bank (the “bank”), is pleased to announce today that Nancy Tomich has joined the bank as Senior Vice President and Head of Residential Lending.

According to Mr. Mahon, "The residential lending business is a natural expansion for our relationship-driven lending model and Nancy brings a proven track record of delivering results. Residential lending further diversifies our asset mix and allows us to expand our ability to serve the lending needs of our customers and communities." Ms. Tomich, who will report to Stu Lubow, Senior Executive Vice President, will be responsible for building the bank's residential lending infrastructure and developing distribution channels through the bank's lending officers and retail branches.

Ms. Tomich has over 20 years of lending experience and joins the bank from Astoria Bank, where she was Managing Director of Residential Mortgage Services. In this role, she was responsible for the strategic direction of the Residential Mortgage Services Group which included: residential loan production, secondary marketing, underwriting, mortgage operations, loan administration & servicing, compliance, and Community Reinvestment activities. Ms. Tomich graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and received an MBA with Distinction from New York Institute of Technology.
