INAP Expands CloudConnection™ Footprint
November 17 2017 - 9:39AM
INAP’s CloudConnection service (formerly
CloudOption) provides high-performance interconnectivity within the
multi-vendor cloud ecosystem
Internap Corporation (NASDAQ:INAP), (“INAP” or the “Company”), a
provider of high-performance internet infrastructure; including
Colocation, Managed Services and Hosting, Cloud and
High-Performance Network Services, today announced an expansion of
CloudConnectionTM, an interconnection service from INAP colocation
and hosting environments to third-party vendor cloud providers.
In 2016, INAP recognized that many of its customers often
encountered performance and cost challenges when attempting to
share data between existing IT infrastructure and external cloud
services. To meet our customer’s needs, INAP launched its
CloudOption service, which was available to customers in the
following metropolitan markets: Dallas, New York/New Jersey,
Seattle and Silicon Valley (Santa Clara). Now, under the name
CloudConnection, INAP has expanded this service to customers in
Atlanta, Boston and Los Angeles.
“Many of our customers need the ability to connect their INAP
colocation and hosting infrastructure to external cloud providers
in a quick and cost-effective manner. We are pleased to make this
service available in these new markets,” said Corey Needles, SVP
and General Manager, INAP COLO. “We know it will benefit our
current and future customers whose services are located in these
markets.”
CloudConnection provides a secure and reliable link from INAP’s
colocation and hosting environments to outside public and private
clouds, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. This
interconnection allows customers to instantly scale bandwidth from
1G to 10G, enabling a business to react to demand quickly and cost
effectively. Furthermore, CloudConnection can be deployed faster
and at a lower cost compared to individual connections set up with
each provider.
