November 16 2017 - 8:45AM
CounterPath Corporation (NASDAQ:CPAH) (TSX:PATH), a global provider
of award-winning, over-the-top (OTT) Unified Communications (UC)
solutions for enterprises and carriers, today announced that it has
signed a distribution agreement with India-based TaraSpan, a
leading Unified Communication solutions provider, to sell
CounterPath’s Bria Stretto subscription services throughout India.
“India represents an important growth market within the Unified
Communications space, and is a logical market in which to expand
our global channel distribution network," said Bruce Ford, VP
Channel Management at CounterPath. “With TaraSpan’s varied
portfolio of UC solutions and strong relationships with SMEs &
large enterprises in India, we can enable organizations in India to
enhance the productivity and reachability of their employees.”
According to research conducted by 6Wresearchi, the unified
communications and collaboration market in India is anticipated to
record CAGR of 12% during 2017-23. Among the verticals, banking,
financial services and insurance (BFSI) registered the highest
contribution in the Unified Communications and collaboration
market, followed by education, government, public utilities and
others. This continuous growth in the VoIP telephony segment is due
to factors such as flexibility, lowering of operating expenses and
portability. CounterPath’s Bria Stretto solution provides secure
and reliable softphone communications, with a consistent user
experience across all platforms and interoperability with most IP
PBX platforms.
“This partnership will enable people at work and home to easily
communicate at any time, on any device, over any network using
their business phone number and also help enterprises to lower
their operating costs and provides more freedom and connectivity to
their employees,” said Nihar Ranjan Sahoo, MD, TaraSpan.
