DULUTH, Minn., Oct. 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/
-- maurices, a national women's specialty retailer, is
proud to announce that the Breast Cancer Research Foundation
(BCRF) has named a research grant in its honor.
Officially called "The maurices Award," the grant will support
the research of Drs. James Ingle and
Liewei Wang at the Mayo Clinic in
Rochester, Minnesota in the coming
year. BCRF is dedicated to being the end of Breast Cancer and since
its founding in 1993, BCRF-funded researchers have been involved in
every major breakthrough in breast cancer prevention, treatment,
diagnosis and survivorship. Dr. Ingle and Dr. Wang are two of
BCRF's finest researchers.
"By partnering with the highest-rated breast cancer organization
in the country, maurices is making a significant and tangible
impact," said Myra Biblowit,
President and CEO of Breast Cancer Research Foundation. "Thanks to
their support we are propelling research forward, faster."
maurices continues support of BCRF during
October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a "Power of Pink"
campaign in-store and online through product sales of branded
necklaces and a customer donation program. A similar campaign this
past spring resulted in $115,000 in
donations to BCRF.
"It is a great privilege to continue our partnership with BCRF
and to have maurices affiliated with research that will have
such a remarkable impact on women everywhere. There is a rich
history of charitable giving within maurices, and we are
honored to support our philanthropic mission of empowering women
and children to be their best," says George
Goldfarb, President and CEO of the Value Fashion Segment,
which includes maurices and dressbarn brands.
