The National Kidney Foundation announces Peter E. Gladitsch, chief financial officer; Karen Gledhill, senior vice president and general counsel; and Brian Silva, senior vice president of human resources and administration, Fresenius Medical Care North America (FMCNA), will serve as this year's Corporate Chair Team for the Boston Kidney Walk to be held Sunday, Oct. 15, at Canal Park.

As the Corporate Chair Team for the event, Gladitsch, Gledhill and Silva will help call attention to the prevention of kidney disease and the need for organ donation. This year, FMCNA announced a company-wide national team in support of the National Kidney Foundation’s walks. By bringing together the collective power of Fresenius Medical Care employees under one National Team, the company enhances its ability to make a greater social impact on the broader kidney community. With a 2017 Kidney Walk fundraising goal of $250,000—the largest ever by a National Team—FMCNA intends to surpass the million-dollar mark in terms of total funds raised to date.

“Our community commitment starts at the top, and extends through all parts of our company and employee family,” said Gledhill. “I’m thrilled, along with my co-chairs Peter E. Gladitsch and Brian Silva, to join all the walkers on October 15th as we come together for the kidney community.”

FMCNA will host a tent at the Boston Kidney Walk. Visitors can spin a prize wheel, visit the FMCNA Resource Center, Ask-A-Nurse questions about kidney care and share their story at the Thrive On story station.

The Boston Kidney Walk raises awareness of kidney disease, organ donation and the importance of early screening and healthy lifestyle for those at risk. The Kidney Walk is the nation's largest fundraiser to fight kidney disease. Each year, more than 75,000 walkers join the NKF to raise over $8 million to help kidney patients and their families. More than 80 cents of every dollar donated directly supports NKF programs and services.

FMCNA’s corporate headquarters are based in Waltham and Lexington, hosting more than 1,100 employees. The company operates 27 clinics in the greater Boston area, treating nearly 2,400 patients.
