LTE for IoT chipmaker Sequans Communications S.A. (NYSE: SQNS) announced that its Colibri LTE Cat 4 Platform provides the LTE connectivity for the new Spartan GoCam now available for use on the major US wireless networks. Spartan GoCam is an LTE-connected wireless surveillance camera for use in numerous markets, including residential, wildlife, commercial, utilities, and research.

The Spartan GoCam sends motion or timer-triggered images to a user’s phone, tablet or computer in real time via the Spartan GoCam web portal and mobile application. Users can view images immediately in real time. Cameras can be controlled by advanced two-way communication via the web or mobile app (Android or iOS), putting users in control of all their cameras while receiving and viewing images anytime, anywhere. Spartan GoCam features all-in-one design and standalone installation and is powered by AA batteries or portal DC power.

“We chose Sequans to provide the LTE connectivity for the Spartan GoCam, because the Colibri platform has the high performance LTE features we needed, including high throughput for video and images at the lowest power consumption in the industry,” said Wei Shi, CEO of Frontier Pursuits Technology, developer of the Spartan GoCam. “Colibri is an operator-certified, proven solution for ultra-reliable LTE connectivity.”

“The Spartan GoCam is a powerful surveillance solution with a wealth of features and capabilities,” said Danny Kedar, head of Sequans IoT business unit. “It is exciting to see our Colibri technology operating in this very sophisticated camera that transmits moving or still images via the everywhere available LTE network. The uses for such a powerful surveillance tool are almost limitless.”

The Spartan GoCam is powered by Sequans’ Colibri LTE Platform, a Cat 4, 150 Mbps chipset and member of Sequans’ StreamrichLTE family of solutions for broadband and high performance IoT devices. Colibri comprises baseband and RF along with an integrated IoT applications processor running Sequans’ carrier-proven LTE protocol stack, an IMS client, and a comprehensive software package for over-the-air device management and packet routing.
