customers on the rise, with a price target of 3.75 $ by See Thru

Interview:
Cannanet.eu with Warren Wang, CEO of ChineseInvestors.com
-
Mr. Wang, Chineseinvestors.com has been in the Media business
since 1999, how has the company evolved since then?
ChineseInvestors.com, Inc. primary objective is to be
THE leading financial information website providing real-time
market commentary and analysis specifically for Chinese-speaking
investors via our company’s dynamic financial website,
www.chinesefn.com. We have
our own financial information mobile application as well. In the
past 18 years, we have acquired more than 100,000 registered users.
Our business model incorporates the use of traditional media
revenue sources as well as advertising revenue. Morningstar
Research has noted that the average annual growth rate of CIIX
during the last five years is more than 150%. Our headquarters is
currently located in Los Angeles, California, and we have 60
employees in total including staff in New York and
Shanghai.
-
Your company aims at the Chinese
speaking population of the USA and to the Chinese public in
general. How do you reach your audience and what are your most
popular broadcasts?
We reach our
Chinese-speaking audience in North America through mass media and
advertisements. We have close cooperative partnerships with various
media channels including Phoenix TV North America. We also launched
the first ever US stock TV show “Wall Street Gold Miner” with China
Business Network (CBN) in Shanghai, China. CIIX has become a very
authoritative and trustworthy resource for the Chinese-speaking
investment community during our 18 year history, and we continue to
add new users on a monthly basis.
-
CIIX is also now becoming an investment company of its own
as you have launched www.chineseCBDoil.com to market CBD Oil
Products in China. What is the Hemp & Cannabis situation in
general in China? What can be sold and what is illegal
there?
CBD is not
legal in China. However, hemp is legal and can be made into energy
bars, hemp seeds and other health products. In the near future, we
will launch a series of cosmetic products containing CBD since its
use in skin care products is legal in China. We believe that once
we launch these and other products in China that contain high-tech
extracted and purified hemp , that CIIX will also draw the
attention of Chinese communities all over the United States and the
rest of the world.
-
Selling CBD Oil Products in China can be a big business
opportunity?
If and when CBD becomes fully legal
in China, we think it will develop into a market of a few billion,
or even tens of billions dollars in size.
Why would we say that? Because one of the most important functions
of CBD is that it can be used as a sedative. And although we cannot
guarantee that CBD will be a cure for cancer or epilepsy, it will
definitely be helpful for those patients suffering with these
ailments.
In China, there are more than 7,000
people dying of cancer every single day. Although CBD is still not
legal in China, cancer patients will try every possible way to
alleviate their pain, such as seek treatment methods abroad or ask
their friends to purchase CBD on their behalf. China also has
nearly 10 million epilepsy patients and CBD has been shown to be
very effective in treating epilepsy according to a series of
documentaries televised on CNN. As as result, the market for CBD
will be huge!
In order to meet the legitimate
needs of both the US and the Chinese markets, we have established
two separate websites, www.chinesehempoil.com and www.chinesecbdoil.com and we will soon open our first retail store in
San Gabriel, California.
-
Are you planning any more
investments in the Hemp & Cannabis related sector?
Yes. CIIX
aspires to become a leading Chinese medical cannabis company.
Currently, both CBD and medical marijuana are not legal in China,
yet there does exist a potential great opportunity for CIIX. We do
not expect that the Chinese government will legalize cannabis, as
the government still does not permit casinos in mainland China
today.
However,
medical cannabis has shown to be significantly effective in
treating cancer and epilepsy. Therefore, we believe as Chinese
people get sufficient medical education, they will go abroad to
Germany, the U.S. or Canada to receive medical cannabis treatment
and to buy CBD health products. This provides CIIX a huge
opportunity in the future in providing services to these visiting
patients overseas from mainland China.
-
In December you completed a private
placement with investors for 5 Mil Dollars... What are you planning
to do with the money raised?
We completed
a $5 million private placement at the beginning of year 2017. In
addition to continuing investing in our media business, we will
invest most of our proceeds in our new hemp and CBD businesses. We
officially established and registered XiBiDi Biotechnology Co.,
Ltd. in the Pudong Free-Trade Area in Shanghai, China, which is a
100% owned subsidiary of CIIX and can do business in
China. We
believe XiBiDi Biotechnology will contribute substantial revenues
for CIIX in FY2018. Currently, we are looking for the right CEO to
run this new subsidiary, and we will announce our choice for that
role in the near future.
In addition,
we will also invest the proceeds towards creating our own hemp and
CBD health products and to establish our own retail stores and
chain stores. We will continue to invest in our medical cannabis
‘Yelp’ style website and mobile application in the Chinese language
to help Chinese patients overcome the language barriers in the U.S
and receive the medical cannabis treatments they desire. We
endeavor to become the Chinese version of Weedmap and even to
surpass it.
-
Quarterly revenues of CIIX seem to
be rising fast, do you expect this trend to continue?
Our
management team is very optimistic about our potential revenue
growth for FY2018, and they expect our potential hemp-related
revenues to reach eight digits in FY2020. This is also our
long-term goal. We will continue to focus more on the marketing and
retail of CBD and hemp products in FY2018. And for FY2018, we
expect to reach a YoY revenue growth rate of more than
100%.
-
Cannabis will become legal in
Canada next year, are you also preparing to take part in this big
market opportunity?
Canada is
the first G7 country to legalize cannabis nationwide. I am
currently in Toronto participating in a cannabis exhibition, and
everyone here is very passionate about cannabis. We hope have CIIX
listed on a Canadian Exchange in the near future.
-
Europe is also moving ahead with
the legalization of Cannabis...Germany has recently made Cannabis
legal for medical use...Any plans to move into the European
market?
We
participated the Invest Exhibition in Stuttgart, Germany, and we
have our own IR company in Germany as well. We anticipate entering
the medical cannabis market in Germany and Europe, and I will
personally visit Germany very soon.
10. Is CIIX looking at other promising businesses, like
Nanotechnology, Robotics, Biotech or others?
We want to
enter any market that can make money, but our focus is limited. We
have studied the medical cannabis industry for more than three
years. Our goal right now is to become the leading Chinese company
in the medical cannabis industry and we will be laser-focused on
this target. We appreciate the German people, and especially their
dedicated spirit. CIIX brings that same spirit of dedication to our
new venture in the medical cannabis industry. Thank
you.
