                             Domestic Trend 
 
   In the south, long and medium grain milled rice prices steady.  Parboiled 
prices steady.  Second heads and Brewers steady.  Rice by-products:  Rice Bran, 
Millfeed and rice hulls steady.  Crop progress report shows rice planted in AR 
84%, LA 89%, MS 77%, MO 65% and TX 70%.  Rice emerged in AR 51%, LA 80%, MS 43%, 
MO 17% and TX 60%.  Majority of states continue to be above average in both 
planted and emerged, except Texas. 
   In California, medium grain milled rice steady.  Second heads and Brewers 
steady.  Rice by-products:  Rice Bran and Rice hulls steady. 
   CME Rough Rice settlements for Monday 17th, May 17 closed .165 lower at 9.605; 
Jly 17 closed .175 lower at 9.875; Sep 17 closed .165 lower at 10.135.  US dollar 
index on Monday settled at 99.03.
