Keek Joins the Fight to End Hunger With ONEXONE's Million Meals
Movement
TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired -
May 15, 2014) - Keek, Inc. (TSX-VENTURE: KEK) (OTCQX: KEEKF) has joined ONEXONE's Million
Meals Movement to end hunger in North America. ONEXONE is dedicated
to improving the lives of children around the world, and the
highlight of the foundation's efforts this year is a concert that
kick starts the packaging of one million meals for children in
need. This event takes place at the Sony Centre in Toronto on May
23, 2014; Keek will play a major part in the social media promotion
of the day.
After packaging meals on May 23, the day will cap off with an
awesome, star-studded concert produced by Live Nation -- including
multi-platinum band Simple Plan, reggae-pop band MAGIC!, "Alone
Again" breakout star Alyssa Reid, and rapper and humanitarian
Kardinal Offishall -- with proceeds benefitting the ONEXONE and
Simple Plan Foundations.
Keek joins the party by leveraging the power of its social
network, to gain more exposure for the Million Meals Movement. Keek
will encourage its 66 million users to engage with the Movement
before, during and after the event. Strategies include the creation
of a Keek 'kluster' specifically for the event, and heavy promotion
of the ONEXONE Keek account and its videos. Keek's involvement will
culminate with the ONEXONE foundation 'live-keeking' the event.
"Social media is an integral part in the fight against hunger,
because it is the fastest way to promote awareness," says Joey
Adler, Founder of the ONEXONE Foundation. "We love that Keek is a
video social network, since nothing can capture the energy of that
day quite like video!"
The Million Meals Movement hopes to not only alleviate hunger
across North America, but also spread lesser-known facts: just $1
can provide a child with a healthy breakfast, which positively
impacts learning, creativity, test grades, and attendance.
Keek CEO Alexandra Cameron said, "ONEXONE has started a
large-scale movement against hunger in North America -- and Keek is
excited to be part of this endeavor! Keek is committed to
using its platform to create awareness for worthy causes such as
the Million Meals Movement and we are thrilled to be partnered with
this special event."
