Indian officials are probing various factors related to the recent Air India Boeing (NYSE:BA) 787-8 crash in Ahmedabad, which tragically claimed over 240 lives, according to a Reuters report on Friday.

The ongoing investigation is examining technical issues such as potential problems with engine thrust, flap malfunctions, and the unusual circumstance of the landing gear remaining extended during the crash. Notably, authorities have reportedly ruled out a bird strike as a cause.

In addition to technical factors, investigators are assessing whether Air India may hold some responsibility, especially concerning aircraft maintenance protocols.

As the inquiry progresses, the Indian government is reportedly contemplating a temporary suspension of all Boeing 787 operations within the country until more information is available.
