There is almost no sector or category of life that the global pandemic did not impact, and change. For many companies, it highlighted a desperate need for upgraded technology. Businesses that were operating under antiquated systems, or no system at all, quickly learned that that was not a good setup for sustainability or productivity.

The good news here is that although tech updates are always ever present, they have often been viewed as somewhat optional. Since they are generally quite pricey, companies have excused how essential they are in favor of saving a couple bucks. In a post-pandemic world however, cost cutting in other areas has made upgrading systems more attractive, not to mention the need to remain relevant and competitive in today’s markets.

Real Time Systems

Previously, collaborative working was simple, because everyone was in the office together, able to move from desk to desk, or hold team meetings, with the goal of collaboration at the forefront. With many teams working remotely now, how can that be accomplished? And even more importantly, how can it be accomplished in real time? Things like cloud data systems and tracking software hold the answers.

The logistics industry has absolutely exploded over the last year and a half, and especially with supply chain issues looming, businesses need to be able to have their eyes on every moving part, in real time, to provide the best customer service. You can utilize GPS fleet tracking in order to track your fleet with real time GPS data. When you are monitoring your fleet in real time you are giving yourself an opportunity to not only track productivity to improve customer service, but communicate with your road team and problem solve efficiently.

Add Online Departments

This is a great opportunity to expand your business beyond what it was capable of inside four walls. There is no shortage of ideas for online startups, and even if you are an established business, you can still refer to them for inspiration. Suggestions like creating virtual customer service departments, or even adding live content for your business via social media are great ways to introduce modern technology to an already existing business.

This can also help you keep former customers and gain new ones. Since everyone’s post-pandemic comfort level is varied, you want to make sure that the ways in which your company can be accessed are mindful of that. Additionally, people have taken to using online forums as their main source of consumerism and if your business is not up to speed, they will move right past you, to your competition.

Lean on Social Media

The fact that consumers are flocking to social media almost in lieu of traditional company websites is hard to ignore. Even if your company currently has one or several social media accounts, in an effort to upgrade your tech usage, you should consider leaning into them even more. These platforms are excellent tools to increase outreach as well as interact with customers. If you feel that you could be doing more but are unsure of where to begin consider hiring a social media manager to spearhead these campaigns and insert some modernity and effectiveness into your social media strategy.
