A joint venture between Reliance Industries Ltd. (500325.BY) and BP PLC (BP.LN) are expecting first gas to be produced from the Krishna-Godavari block in India's east coast in the middle of this year.

Peak production from the fields is expected to reach 1 billion cubic feet equivalent per day, according to a joint statement by the two companies late Monday.

The joint venture company has three blocks on the KG basin.
