Norwegian telecom provider Telenor ASA on Thursday named Tone Hegland Bachke as Chief Financial Officer, effective May 1.

Ms. Bachke currently holds the position of head of group treasury at Telenor.

"Tone has proven to be a strong and results-oriented leader with extensive experience from financial management and value creation," said Chief Executive Sigve Brekke.

"With her broad experience, from financial management in several industries and top management of an international company, she fits perfectly in the role as our new group CFO."

Telenor also appointed Jorgen C. Arentz Rostrup as head of its unified Asia business from May 1. He moves from the position of chief financial officer.

Mr. Rostrup will be based in a regional hub in Singapore and will work actively with the CEOs of the five Telenor companies in Asia.

"By uniting the markets in Asia into a single unit, Telenor strengthens the focus on its growth and modernization agenda, and positions itself to capture opportunities in the region.," the company said.
