Perrier, a unit of Nestle SA (NESN.EB), said Thursday that it will support three startups bringing more sustainable packaging to the market by 2025.

The French bottled-water company said the startups are Biotic, Flexikeg and PlastiSkul. Biotic makes bio-based and biodegradable plastic from agriculture waste, Flexikeg creates beverages with a re-usable flexible keg and PlastiSkul develops so-called micro factories for waste collection.

Each company will receive technical, operational and financial support up to 1 million euros ($1.1 million).

Perrier said it selected the startups after receiving around 90 applicants since it called for submissions in April 2019.
