Golden Hope Mines Limited (TSX VENTURE: GNH)(PINK SHEETS: GOLHF) is pleased to announce that the first 2000m phase of the 2010 field season diamond drilling program on its properties in the Bellechasse-Beauce area of southeastern Quebec began today.

Favourable snow conditions permit this early start at the Bellechasse-Timmins deposit, where substantial tonnage of gold-bearing quartz-filled breccias in diorites have been outlined during the past three years.

This initial 16-hole program is designed to follow the extensions of previously investigated zones (T1 and T2A&B) to the northeast and to the southwest, and to further explore the other 8 parallel zones that are known from surface exposures and diamond drilling.

Work to date has located mineralized zones within an area 300m along strike and confirmed that parallel structures repeat in the Bellechasse-Timmins diorite for at least 600m across the 045 degrees regional structural trend. Our data indicate additional parallel zones may occur both to the northwest and to the southeast of the explored area. The strike length of each of the known breccia zones remains to be established.

Soil gas hydrocarbon geochemistry completed early this year suggests more than a dozen additional drill targets in the immediate vicinity of the T1 and T2 zones, and several more in previously unexplored ground.

Diamond drilling elsewhere on the properties will begin toward the end of the month after completion of this first phase of the drilling program when improved field conditions are expected to allow access to more remote sites.
