Lone Star Withdraws from Asda Race, Apollo Still Interested -Financial Times

--Private equity firm Lone Star has pulled out of the race to
buy Walmart's UK supermarket chain Asda Group Ltd., the Financial
Times reports.
-- The US-based buyout group failed to reach agreement on price
or the potential costs of a long-running equal-pay dispute,
Financial Time says, citing a person briefed on the matter.
--Private-equity group Apollo remains in the running to buy Asda
at an expected valuation of 6.5 billion pounds ($8.28 billion),
according to the FT.
