SunPower Corp. shares were up 13% to $10.41 in afternoon trading.

Total S.A. recently acquired 676,600 shares of the company, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

According to another SEC filing, Total Solar and SunPower entered into a Debenture Repurchase Agreement under which SunPower agreed to repurchase $56.4 million aggregate principal amount of its 0.875% Senior Convertible Debentures due 2021 from Total Solar.
