Telefonica to Halve Emissions by 2025, Be Carbon Neutral by 2050

Telefonica SA (TEF.MC) said Wednesday that it aims to halve its
carbon emissions in five years and be carbon neutral by 2050 as
part of its goal to address climate change.
During the United Nations Climate Change Conference incarbon dio
Madrid, the Spanish telecommunications company outlined five new
climate goals including reducing its energy consumption per unit of
data traffic by 85% and using only renewable energy by 2030.
Telefonica said these goals will help it halve its overall
emissions by 2025 and be carbon neutral by 2050. The company said
the growing digitization of its operations will help it achieve its
decarbonization goals.
