MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis.,
Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- On
Sunday, September 26 Kohl's
Department Stores presented the 12th Annual Susan G. Komen
Southeast Wisconsin Race for the Cure. Kohl's not only had the
largest team for this year's race, but also fielded the largest
team in the history of the Southeast
Wisconsin affiliate of Susan G.
Komen Race for the Cure with more than 2,000 team members.
Kohl's role as the local presenting sponsor of the race is just one
component of the company's investment in the fight against breast
cancer. Earlier this year, Kohl's announced its new philanthropic
initiative to fight breast cancer with a commitment of $7 million over three years to the American
Cancer Society's Midwest Division and the Southeast Wisconsin affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure to support breast
cancer research, education and patient-assistance programs. The
donation represents the largest corporate gift ever made to the
Southeast Wisconsin affiliate of
Susan G. Komen – or any national
affiliate – of Susan G. Komen for
the Cure, as well as to the American Cancer Society's Midwest
division.
