Today Kohl’s Department Stores (NYSE:KSS) announced a $50,000
cash donation toward flood relief efforts in the Atlanta area.
Kohl’s is providing this donation to the American Red Cross
Disaster Relief Fund, which is delivering much-needed emergency
assistance throughout Georgia.
In addition to a financial contribution, Kohl’s is encouraging
its associates to volunteer in support of cleanup and recovery
efforts through its A-Team program. When five or more Kohl’s
associates volunteer to help residents in the affected areas now
through November 16, Kohl’s will donate a $500 grant to the
American Red Cross or other nonprofits providing flood-relief in
hopes of further supporting the affected areas. To involve a Kohl’s
A-Team in flood cleanup efforts, contact your local Kohl's store
and ask to speak with the store manager about A-Team. Find your

“Many families in Kohl’s communities were impacted by the recent
floods and Kohl’s wants to support our neighbors when we can,” said
Julie Gardner, executive vice president and chief marketing officer
of Kohl’s Department Stores. “The American Red Cross is immediately
available when help is needed the most – we’re pleased to provide
funding as well as volunteer our time to help with the cleanup
effort.”
Kohl’s and its associates are actively involved in the
communities it serves. In 2008 more than 64,000 Kohl’s associates
participated in the A-Team associate volunteerism program, totaling
nearly 217,000 hours of service and $5.6 million in grants to
youth-serving nonprofit organizations. Through Kohl's Cares for
Kids®, the company supports a merchandise program that benefits
children's health and education initiatives; offers fundraising
gift cards for schools and youth-serving organizations; and
operates the Kohl’s Kids Who Care® Scholarship Program, which
recognizes young volunteers.
