October 22 2007 - 8:00AM
PR Newswire (US)
SAN ANTONIO, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Visitors to the
Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) exhibit (#501) at GEOINT 2007 will
experience the company's innovative solutions for geospatial
intelligence, bringing to life the company's theme
"Service-Enabling the GEOINT Enterprise." The Harris exhibit will
feature four critical aspects of enabling a seamless geospatial
intelligence enterprise, which is the focus of the overall
conference. GEOINT 2007 is sponsored by the United States
Geospatial Intelligence Foundation and is being held October 21-24
at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.
"The Intelligence Community's mission demands an information
technology environment that enables collaboration, integration of
data resources, faster discovery and retrieval, and advanced
geospatial processing," said Jeremy Wensinger, group president of
Harris Government Communications Systems. "Harris possesses the
technology, processes, people and intelligence mission know-how to
fully address this emerging requirement." Visitors to the Harris
exhibit will be able to view Harris products and systems that
address the following challenges to Service-Enabling the GEOINT
Enterprise: -- Cross Enterprise Integration -- Highlighting Harris
IT and systems integration, this demonstration addresses
interoperability within diverse, service-oriented architecture
(SOA) enterprises residing at different locations and belonging to
independent organizations. Incorporating three locations and two
service buses from different vendors, Harris systems will exchange
information, collaborate, execute services and interoperate
regardless of whether the systems are internal or external to the
enterprise. -- Mission Integration Framework -- This demonstration
shows a network access control-compliant, SOA approach to the
integration of GEOINT services, processing, data access and
visualization. The framework integrates independently developed
services using a Business Process Execution Language to orchestrate
the process of retrieving source data, executing services and
producing the final product. A Virtual Storage Area Network
contains source imagery as well as products in geospatially
separate locations, making them equally accessible to any service
on the network. -- Motion Imagery Integration -- A worldwide leader
of digital media solutions in the broadcast industry, Harris will
feature integrated COTS products that are capable of managing live
and archived video for industry, as well as news and sports giants.
The Harris Full Motion Video Asset Management Engine will be
demonstrated as a comprehensive solution to managing and
distributing live and archived video for both the military and the
Intelligence Community. -- GEOINT Innovation -- Harris will
highlight four new technologies, several of which are centered on
Harris advancements in automated LiDAR and correlated digital
elevation model processing. They include: Foliage Depiction for
automatically and accurately extracting tree canopies and
generating trunks and branches; Void Fill for accurately replacing
gaps in digital elevation models with few undesirable artifacts;
Auto DEM, for automatically generating digital elevation models
with a post spacing of one-point-per-pixel from high-resolution
stereo imagery; and 3D Buildings, a new capability that generates a
realistic and accurate representation of the interior and exterior
of a building. About Harris Corporation Harris is an international
