The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) Center for Clinical Standards & Quality said Friday a General Dynamics Corp. (GD) unit won a contract to help improve "the federal health care system through the development and use of quality measures and related activities."
The Measure and Instrument Development and Support contract was awarded to General Dynamics Information Technology. The contract holds an estimated ceiling value of $1.6 billion and includes a base period of five years, with an additional five-year option period, the CMS said.
General Dynamics Information Technology will support the development of outcome, process, cost and composite quality measures required for addressing numerous sites of care, the CMS added.
