--Volkswagen AG's supervisory board is going to discuss strengthening its alliance with Ford Motor Co. (F) when it meets on July 11, Bloomberg reports Tuesday, citing "people familiar with the matter."

--The two companies have been working toward cooperating on vans and pickup trucks, and the upcoming meeting could see an agreement to work on other initiatives, including self-driving cars or electric cars, the report said.

--A spokesman for the VW board declined to comment, the report said.
