Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (FCA.MI) said Wednesday that it has appointed a new chief operating officer and executive chairman for Maserati.

Davide Grasso, former Nike Inc.'s (NKE) Converse Chief Executive Officer, has been named COO of Maserati and is also appointed to the company's group executive council, the Italian car maker said.

Harald Wester now assumes the role of Maserati's executive chairman, in addition to his responsibilities as the group's Chief Technical Officer, which have been expanded, Fiat said.
